Nomad in Making!

I promised myself I’d write every day—because consistency is the only real path to success. Well… I’ve only missed ten days. Honestly, I’m surprised it wasn’t more. Time really doesn’t wait for anyone.

This is exactly why I keep saying: we need to start living. Make time for yourself. Stop waiting for the “right time.” You’re not promised tomorrow—or even the next hour. So stop procrastinating.

Speaking of which, I just listened to a great podcast by #MelRobbins called “Get Back on Track: Five Evening Habits…” She talks about something called “revenge bedtime procrastination”—basically, when you don’t go to bed even though you’re exhausted, just to reclaim some time for yourself. Yep, I have that one. Go listen to her—she’s wise, real, and has helped me a lot.

Anyway, where was I? No, I don’t have ADHD—I just have a lot to say.

So, about becoming a nomad… It’s turning out to be more work—and taking more time—than I expected. Our caravan is ready, licensed, and waiting. But we’re not. Still a few things to pack. A few things to buy. Still finishing up work. Still planning routes and booking places.

But honestly, the hardest part isn’t the packing. It’s the mental preparation.

This lifestyle is way out of my comfort zone. It’s different. It’s not what most people expect—or approve of. It gets criticized. It gets questioned.

According to WikiHow (yes, I went there), to mentally prepare for a nomadic lifestyle you need to:

  • Build resilience
  • Embrace uncertainty
  • Cultivate adaptability
  • Understand your motivations
  • Set realistic expectations

You should also:

  • Acknowledge your fears
  • Practice self-compassion
  • Celebrate the wins, no matter how small

I’m not 100% there yet. But I know this is the right path for me and my mom. And even though I say I don’t care what people think—those 2 a.m. wake-ups with a racing mind and heart still come.

But here’s the thing: we’re doing this. And I believe God is with us. I believe we’re blessed. So keep reading, keep walking this road with us, and follow along on our YouTube channel to see where this journey takes us next.
