Quick Roadtrip

What was meant to be a quick trip to drop off a few things for my daughter in Kenton-on-Sea turned into the most fun, relaxing weekend we’ve had in ages—one we all desperately needed.

My soul feels lighter. I’m recharged and full of life again. I can’t remember the last time we laughed that much in such a short space of time. It reminded me that joy doesn’t need an itinerary.

These days, we tend to over-plan everything—holidays, visits, even meals. We think everything needs to be just right. But sometimes, we just need to wing it, as the younger crowd says. When last did you do something completely new, just for the fun of it?

Life’s too short to wait for the perfect day, the right weather, or everyone’s approval. Helen Keller nailed it: “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”

This weekend, I saw how much we miss when we worry about what others think. I’m on a healing journey, and with it, I’m building confidence and growing my self-worth—thanks in part to #MarisaPeer and Master Your Mind.

Normally, I’m quiet in restaurants. But not this time. With my daughters, we laughed like no one was watching. Even something as small as buying an iced coffee from #MikisGrindCoffee felt like an adventure.

I’m choosing to live fully—to love freely, laugh loudly, dance whenever I hear music, and sing like nobody can hear me. I choose life.

And then there’s my mother. She’s 87 this year and on the road with me in our caravan life. She’s the most positive, vibrant person I know. Ask her how she’s doing and she’ll smile and say, “Healthy, wealthy, wise, and very blessed.” And she’s right—no meds, sharp mind, nothing missing in her world. She is the definition of abundance.

Did something here speak to you?
