Day One: A Beginning Made of Salt and Sunrise
Day One: A Beginning Made of Salt and Sunrise
By lunchtime yesterday, my caravan was fully set up —
my little home, my independence, my new life on wheels.
The first night alone was gentle and calm. I unpacked, sorted everything into its place, made this small space feel like mine.
I slept deeply — the kind of sleep that arrives when there is nothing and no one upsetting your peace.
This morning I woke near 5. The beach was quiet, the sky soft, and the world felt unhurried.
I walked.
I breathed.
I stretched my body awake.
Then I made my first solo breakfast — slow, peaceful, full of flavour. It’s funny how food tastes different when the mind is quiet.
I visited my son just to drop off a bag,and ended up drinking delicious coffee, which became lunch, which became laughter and conversation—the kind you don’t plan, but treasure.
After the shops, I came home, back to my swim, and then the beach before the night folded in.
No rush.
No questioning.
No one demanding explanations.
I lived today.
Fully.
Quietly.
Beautifully.
Day one:
Calm. Steady.
A beginning I can feel in my bones.
